Style/Date: 1873 Materials: 14K, onyx cameo, natural pearls Description: Finely carved stone (onyx) cameo portrait pin/pendant in 14K and probably natural pearls. The bail is on a hinge and can easily be removed to wear as a pin. Measures 4 1/8"high x 2"wide. On the reverse is engraved "Rachel Lockwood . - Aged 83" "Presented to her daughter Mary L. Pierson. Nov. 13. 1873." Possibly from a banking family in Troy, NY. or Greenwich - Stamford, CT. Pearl necklace not included.

Diamonds are bead set, marquise is bezel set, miligraining all around. The bail is retractable to become a pin.

They were one of the finest jewelers in Newark, New Jersey, ( a major jewelry manufacturing center in the 19th-20th centuries.)

Style/Date: Edwardian Materials: 14K yellow gold, Diamond, opal doublets Description: Edwardian 14K yellow gold knife edge swirl design brooch/pendant, with center diamond and surrounding opal doublets. The diamond is an Old European Cut, 3/4ct approx., H-I color and I1 clarity. There is a hinged bail on the top that can be hidden on the reverse to become a brooch. The pin mechanism has been modernized.

Style/Date: Victorian Materials: 15K 3 color gold Description: Stunning English gold brooch with applied flowers, shamrocks (good luck) in the center and forget me nots (true love) interspersed between laurel around the outside. On the reverse, is a 4 leaf clover under glass. A custom brooch given to a gal for courtship. Thankfully in its original box!

Style/Date: Victorian Materials: 14K yellow gold, variscite Description: 14K yellow gold brooch with twisted wire floral design and large variscite cabochon. Variscite is found in southwestern USA, and is very similar chemically to turquoise (it has no copper!) The pin exhibits "bloomed gold." This was a process in which it was dipped in acid and the alloy would disintegrate and leave behind a matt finish hi carat gold, which was desired at that time. Also called "Romanization."
