They were one of the finest jewelers in Newark, New Jersey, ( a major jewelry manufacturing center in the 19th-20th centuries.)

Style/Date: Edwardian Materials: 14K yellow gold, Diamond, opal doublets Description: Edwardian 14K yellow gold knife edge swirl design brooch/pendant, with center diamond and surrounding opal doublets. The diamond is an Old European Cut, 3/4ct approx., H-I color and I1 clarity. There is a hinged bail on the top that can be hidden on the reverse to become a brooch. The pin mechanism has been modernized.

"Image of an advertisement for Equitable Life Assurance Society of New York City; image of a marble statue of goddess Athena with a spear and upraised shield protecting a mother and her child." The bloom was created when dipped in acid and the alloy in the gold would disintegrate and just pure gold would remain. This would give the effect of ancient gold which was the desire of the day.
