The bail is on a hinge and can easily be removed to wear as a pin. Measures 4 1/8"high x 2"wide. On the reverse is engraved "Rachel Lockwood . - Aged 83" "Presented to her daughter Mary L. Pierson. Nov. 13. 1873." Possibly from a banking family in Troy, NY. or Greenwich - Stamford, CT. Pearl necklace not included.
